Substance Designer Bracers

Was looking at lots of bracers on pinterest and realised making one in SD would be not too bad since that area of the arm is basically just a square wrapped into a cylinder, perfect for SD!

I thought it would be cool but not very practical, but after making it I relised it is super easy to make adjustments and add new elements onto this to procedurally make armor pieces. In the end one would still need to make a low poly to bake to for a game but each one took under a day to make so I am happy with the workflow.

I used a 3d model of an arm and just snipped out a section that was as close to a perfect square wrapped into a cylinder as possible then dropped that into SD. After that I just made the height and layered materials as one would do in SD.
