Recently talked at Collin College on using tiling plus trimsheet textures for asset and environment creation and made some breakdown pics to share online.
Never used world alignment before but it is really great and does not produce as many errors as I thought it would. Only major issue I had was getting mesh deffered decal mats to sort correctly. Decals have a sort number but don't if they are on a mesh so the shaders need to compile in the correct order.
